My Favorite Eyeshadow Palettes for Fall - That You May Already Own
Fall is upon us and I don’t now about you but my tastes in makeup have shifted to fall colors. I’m already finding myself reaching for orange, olive and berry tones. I haven’t been purchasing much makeup as of late. I am focusing on saving up for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. And so I have been shopping my stash for palettes I already own that are great for fall makeup looks. I decided to compile a list of some of my personal faves that you too may already have in your collection.
Natasha Denona Gold Palette
This palette is more versatile than it initially looks. Which is awesome since Natasha Denona palettes aren’t cheap. I’ve used this for everyday neutral looks and for more dramatic looks. I’ve worn it everywhere from a wedding to work. What I love about this palette is that the mattes have a unique yellow undertone that keep them from looking boring and give looks an overall warmth. And the formula is fantastic.
2. Melt Gemini
Murky green and yellow tones? Yes, please! This palette just screams fall to me. And it’s one of my favorite color stories of all time. You have the option with the first half of the palette to do simple looks or can go more dramatic by incorporating the greens. This is a great palette if you like a slightly edgier vibe to your eye looks.
3. Anastasia Beverly Hill Soft Glam
This palette is perfect year-round. I’ve worn in during the summer months and it works during the fall and winter as well. I placed Soft Glam at the number 2 spot in my Ranking All of My Anastasia Beverly Hills Palettes post. You can do simple all matte looks, or add one of the metallics for a bit more depth. My favorite shades in this palette are Burnt Sienna and Mulberry. Great staple fall tones.
4. Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts
If you are looking for a bit of color but on the warmer side of the spectrum, The Queen of Hearts is a perfect option. It has beautiful jewel-toned purples, oranges and golds. Along with staple neutral tones to create complete looks. The metallics in this palette are stunning. And it’s one of those palettes that you can combine any of the shades in any variation and it works.
5. Pat McGrath Mothership I Subliminal
I added this palette to my collection over the summer and I’m wondering what took me so long. At first glance it can look rather boring but in person and in practice it is anything but. In fact, I would say that it is one of the more versatile palettes that Pat McGrath has in her collection. The cool matte tones are perfect for Fall/Winter. But it is the metallic and Astral shades that elevate this palette. Subliminal is an example of a perfect day to night palette. You can use the cool toned mattes and then add one of the metallics and create a completely different look. And you can layer metallics for a truly impactful, sparkly eye.
6. Artist Couture Supreme Nudes
Supreme Nudes is a true workhorse palette. And that’s not as boring as it sounds. What I mean by that is that you can use this palette everyday and create varying looks using the metallics and mattes in different combos. The gold metallics have beautiful texture to them. The mattes blend beautifully and layer well. And then you have the olive metallic to add just a dash of something different.
7. Nabla Cutie Palette in Platinum
If having too many options in a palette overwhelms you the Nabla cutie palettes are a great option. And the Platinum cutie palette is a personal fave. The cool tones make it unique to what you find usually. I’m excited that cool toned palettes are becoming more popular. They can be intimidating but I think if you find the right shades for you they can look stunning on pretty much everyone. What I like about the Platinum palette is that the cool tones are versatile.
8. Pat McGrath Mothership VI Midnight Sun
Midnight Sun ranked high on my Pat McGrath rankings post and the more I use it the more I love it. This palette is woefully underrated. Whenever anyone asks me what Pat McGrath palette to get there are two that I mention: Divine Rose I and Midnight Sun. Of the two, Midnight Sun is the one I feel the most inspired by. The color story is interesting and each shade has a uniqueness yo it that doesn’t translate in photos. The red matte is unlike any red I have in my collection (and I own a lot red eyeshadow because I love it). The olive metallic has unique flecks of color in it that play in the light so beautifully. The mattes are buttery and pigmented and blend beautifully. This is a palette for elevated fall looks.
