Ranking my Juvia's Place Eyeshadow Palettes

Ranking my Juvia's Place Eyeshadow Palettes

It’s that time again folks. Time for another palette ranking post. I enjoy doing these and you all seem to enjoy them as well. I am thinking of doing a few updated ranking posts for the ones I’ve already done as I have added new palettes to my collection. Today’s post is a ranking of my Juvia’s Place palettes. I decluttered a handful of my JP palettes last year as well as added a few so I feel like this is the most curated ranking possible. I enjoy all of these palettes and my ranking isn’t about not liking any of them. It is more based on how often I reach for each palette and how inspiring I find the color stories. Of course this ranking could change if JP were to release a palette that I loved, but as of now this is this most up to date.

9. The Warrior Palette

Of all of my Juvia’s Place palettes I can say that Warrior is my least favorite. Now when I say that it doesn't mean I dislike it. If I did I would have decluttered it along with the other JP palettes I recently decluttered (which I will talk about later in the post). JP is known for it’s colorful palettes and Warrior is a neutral gold palette that is relatively unexciting compared to its peers. Warrior is a solid palette: the formula is good and I have made beautiful looks with it but I simply don’t reach for it as much as my other JP or even my other neutral palettes.

8. The Warrior II Palette

This palette is beautiful and a departure for JP in that it is an all matte palette. This palette works more like a companion palette than a stand alone one. Of course you can use it on it’s own - I have, and I’ve loved the eye looks that resulted. But it is a more limited palette and is what I refer to as a “workhorse” palette. Which means that it is a basic palette that gives you what you need but issn’t going to be groundbreaking or all that inspiring.

7. The Douce Palette

I love this palette. It’s so much fun and I have actually gotten more use out of it than I originally thought I would when I purchased it. It’s a perfect palette for spring. I also find myself reaching for this palette for one or two shades to use with other palettes. Especially the really pretty duo chrome shade, Tart and the pretty dusky Terracotta shade, Crepe.

6. The Chocolates Palette

I love this palette for the deep rich browns. It has warm, cool, neutral tones, and beautiful buttery metallics that all work really well together. But with six shades, this is a limited palette. You can only get so many looks from it.

5. The Violets Palette

Like, The Chocolates palette, The Violets palette is limited because it only has six shades. But the reason I rank it slightly higher is because of the finishes in it. I tend to prefer more mattes or an equal number of mattes vs. metallics. However, this palette works because it has more metallics than mattes. And the metallics are all just different enough to keep the palette interesting.

4. The Saharan II Palette

This is one of the newest JP additions to my collection. I have only used it one but I am ranking it at number 6 because of the color story and how much I enjoy it. I love the deep rich mattes and the beautiful soft metallics. My personal faves in this palette are Aziza, Hadiya, Nomad and Zohra.

3. The Magic Mini Palette

I went back and forth on what palettes to place in the numbers 3 & 2 spots. I enjoy them equally but they are very different color stories. I decided to place the Magic Mini palette in the number 3 spot for one reason: It’s the newest of the two and I haven’t gotten as much use out of it. Also I would say that the color story of number 2 is a bit more cohesive for me and features shades that I tend to reach for more. But I still love this palette. It’s stunning. And I don’t know why it took me so long to purchase it. Ive already created a look with it that is one of my favorite looks I’ve ever done. Ever. But I will says that the first two rows are not as exciting fo me. I tend to gravitate to the shades in the bottom two rows. They feature metallics that are unique to my collection and are so much fun to play with. And the deep mattes are equally as stunning.

2. The Nomad Palette

Ahhh The Nomad palette. I have a love hate relationship with this palette. Of all of the JP palettes I own this one features the most inconsistent formula. It isn’t bad. But it is trickier to work with and requires a bit more time for application. Having said that. I LOVE this color story. I love everything about it. I am a sucker for grungy, swampy mustard and green tones. And investing in good natural hair brushes over the last year has made it MUCH easier to work with. So while I wouldn’t say it’s the best palette quality wise it wins out because the color story is something I reach for more.

  1. The Tribe Palette

It was never a question for me what would be in the number one spot. It was all the other rankings that took consideration but this one was a foregone conclusion. The Tribe palette is an amazing palette. The color story is stunning, the formula is great and it’s a palette that continually excites me when I pick it up to use it. It is also one of Juvia’s Place’s most popular releases. It’s at the top of MOST people’s JP rankings. And they discontinued it. And then brought it back. And then discontinued it again. As of now, it no longer available for purchase. You can find it on the resale market at double the price but I would say just wait and see if JP re-releases it and the grab it. It lives up to the hype.

Do you own any Juvia’s Place palettes? If so which is your fave? Let me know in the comments!
