Five Shows To Binge Watch This Week
Are you running out of things to watch? Well this post’s for you! Of course you could read this and think, “yeah Ameerah, I’ve watched all of these already.” And if so - impressive.
Normal People on Hulu
This series is based on a best-selling book by British author, Sally Rooney. I recently started this series and have been loving it so far. It follows the on-again off-again relationship between two high school/college students. It sounds a bit twee, I know. But it isn’t. I don’t usually go for stories like this but I love the character development, the emotional realness and the fact that everyone looks like - you guessed it - normal people.
Hollywood on Netflix
I haven’t started this series yet but I am so excited to start it. It tells the story of Hollywood through the eyes of a group of aspiring actors in post World War II Hollywood. Everyone I know that’s watched has been loving it so far.
Dead to Me Season 2 on Netflix
If you haven’t watched Season 1 of this show yet, go back and start there. It is not a show that you can jump into at any point. I LOVED the first season of Dead to Me and was so excited for the second season. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are AMAZING in this show. I am trying to hurry up and finish Normal People ( I have a habit of starting shows and then starting other shows and finishing neither of them so…I’m trying to be better about that).
Workin Moms Season 4 on Netflix
If you read this blog regularly you know that this show is my JAM. Every season ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more and season 3 was no exception. I got so excited when season 4 was up on Netflix that I immediately started watching the first episode. And then stopped myself, because see my above comment about my bad show bingeing habit. This show is always a much watch for me. Again, if you haven’t watched it before start at the first season. Each episode is only 25 minutes which makes this super easy to binge.
Defending Jacob on Apple TV
I saw the preview for this show on Apple TV and new it would me a must watch for me. Based on the novel by William Landay, the story follows a family dealing with the accusation that their 14 year old son is a murderer. Chris Evans plays the father, who is also an Assisted District Attorney and Michelle Dockery as his wife Laurie.
