Five Things To Do in Chicago This Month

Five Things To Do in Chicago This Month

One of the perks of living in a major city, is that no matter the season there is always something to do. One of my goals this Winter has been not to be such a hibernating bear and get out more. It does wonders at keeping the good old seasonal depression at bay. Listed below are some events to try out here in Chi-town this month that are fun, whether you are a resident or a tourist.

Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon

A family-friendly outdoor skating ribbon in the heart of downtown Chicago. The thing that sets this ribbon apart from other rinks is the way that it is integrated into the park landscape. It's modern and cool. Admission is free (rental skates are available for $12-14) and there is hot chocolate available for purchase

The Field Museum Free Days

January 27 & 28th

Museums are not as affordable as they used to be. So anytime the local museums have free days you want to take advantage of it. Growing up we went to The Field (as it's know here in Chicago) every other weekend. It is a fun outing for kids, but I find it thoroughly enjoyable as an adult. General admission is free for that weekend but tickets for any special exhibits will need to be purchased.
