July Favorites - Beauty, Netflix and Podcasts

July Favorites - Beauty, Netflix and Podcasts

This month has been a bit quiet for me. It wasn’t nearly as busy as June but I’ve quite liked that. My favorites this month reflect that. I spent a TON of time catching up on shows on Netflix, Hulu and Prime. I binge-watched like a champ this month. And one of my favorite singer/songwriters released her new album which I have been listening to non-stop. Overall, July has been a a pretty chill but pleasant month.

Banks III Album

Banks is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. Her lyrics are confessional and bad ass and she has such a distinct and cool voice. Her latest album, III, is in my opinion her best. I’ve been listening to it nonstop. And she is coming to Chicago this fall and I picked up a ticket to the show. I’m so excited!

Sangria Senorial

I’m obsessed with this drink. I think about it all the time. I have a problem. It is a non-alcoholic sangria-flavored soda. I don’t drink but I have tasted Sangria and of the alcoholic drinks I have tasted in my lifetime it’s the best tasting -Mimosa being a close second. I even created a virgin cocktail that is Sangria Senorial, chopped fruit and ice. Sooo…basically… Sangria. LOL

Linda Hallberg Fantastick in Amertrine

I can finally scratch Linda Hallberg Cosmetics off of my list of makeup brands I want to try in 2019. I went for it and placed a giant order via her website. I ordered the Spectrum Palette, the Metallic Mysteries II Palette, Mood Crayon in Anger and the Fanastick in Amertrine. The Fantastick formula is like a mix between a lip tinted lip balm and a lipstick. It’s high shine with no stickiness and more than a hint of color. The color Amertrine caught my eye when I saw on on Angelica Nyqvist on YouTube. The color is STUNNING. It’s a dusty mauve-y purple with just the right amount of shine. It has color to it but not too much. It’s a beautiful shade and a really nice formula. I haven’t had a chance to use the makeup palettes I purchased (I did use the Mood crayon which was nice), so I can’t speak to those yet. My only gripe was the shipping process from Sweden. Yikes. If I decide to purchase anything else from the collection I will order from Beauty Bay and save myself the hassle.

Business Wars Podcast

I mentioned this podcast in my Summer Podcast playlist post. And I am mentioning it again because I have been enjoying it so much. Each episode is only 30 minutes long so they are easy to binge while at work or during your commute. They do a fantastic job of taking stories that may seem bland or boring on the outside compelling and entertaining.

Workin’ Moms on Netflix

I’ve mentioned this show before as well. The second season recently dropped on Netflix and I binge-watched the entire thing in a day. This season is even better than the first one in my opinion and the cliffhanger it ends on is EPIC. This is another show that is easy to binge since each episode is 30 minutes long.

Cane & Austin Mattifying Primer with SPF 50

This primer was in my Favorite Primers for Hot Summer Weather post. I have been using it pretty much non-stop since I got it. It’s the only thing that made me put my beloved Milk Hydrogrip down (I still love that primer). This primer is great for hot weather and if you have oily skin. But my favorite thing about it is the SPF factor and the tinted tone of it. You can wear this on it’s one for a no makeup/low makeup day and it looks great. It has a nice natural matte finish that isn’t dry-looking.

What were some of your favorite things this month? Let me know in the comments.
