The Brands I am Most Looking Forward To at The Chicago Makeup Show
This weekend, The Makeup Show makes it’s annual visit to Chicago. The Makeup Show offers a glimpse into the business side of the beauty industry as well as the creative. With everything from master classes with renowned artists to the ability to shop brands well known and new it is always a fun time. I have had the pleasure of attending the Makeup Show press preview twice before and I always not only learn something new but have a great time (if you have never heard a James Vincent tell a story you are TRULY missing out). Two of this year’s key note speakers are makeup artist and photographer, Jordan Liberty and makeup artist Damone Roberts (who has worked with everyone from Rihanna to Oprah to Gwyneth Paltrow).
Along with great keynote speakers, The Makeup Show will have over 50 exhibitors ranging from Urban Decay to Ardell to Smith Cosmetics. I personally am very excited to visit the booths of a few specific brands that I have been wanting to try for a while now,.
Smith Cosmetics
If you are a makeup enthusiast like myself, then chances are you have heard of this brand. before. Known for their amazing makeup brushes, I have watch so many of the YouTubers I watch rave about these brushes. And not just beauty YTers rave about them. Professional makeup artists sing their praise as well.
Kevyn Aucoin
My love of makeup started with the late, great Kevyn Aucoin. So it’s crazy to think that I have never tried anything from his brand. I would like to remedy that!
LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs
This indie brand first hit my radar about three years ago. I’ve tried a few of their lip products but would like to see what else the brand has to offer.
Cozzette Beauty
Another raved about makeup brush brand that I must try!
Urban Decay
Would love to swing by and see what they have on offer at the event.
Smashbox Cosmetics
Same for this brand!
Viseart @MUSE Beauty Pro
Everyone raves about the quality of Viseart palettes. But I’ve never actually swatched one or seen one in person.
The Makeup Show is open to professional and aspiring artists and students in the beauty, skincare, hair, fashion and photography industries. You do not have to have a cosmetology license to attend. But connection to the beauty or fashion industry is required (that can be a business card, student ID, school enrollment or work ID).
