February 2021 Project Pan Update and Monthly Empties

February 2021 Project Pan Update and Monthly Empties

I wasn’t going to do an update for February because I didn’t think I would be making that much progress on my project pan. But I was wrong! I managed to pan TWO items in February on top of a few other items that I finished. So here we are. And I have decided to go ahead and add two new items to my project pan since I am feeling (cautiously) confident about how things are going.

Project Pan Items

Last month I managed to finish my Glossier Balm Dot Com (finally). Though I hadn’t added it to my project pan until January I had been on a mission to finish it since I bought it back in July of 2020. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t a fave and I don’t think I would repurchase. The second item I panned was the item I had added to the project at the beginning of February. This was another item that was well on its way, the Philosophy Warm Cashmere Fresh Cream Perfume. I knew I could pan it easily but I thought it would last until at least Mid-March. Full disclosure that I “officially” panned it on March 1st. I had a teeny tiny amount left that I didn’t think would actually come out of the atomizer but did. But I am counting it towards my February empties.

It has only been two months, but I am feeling really good with my progress on my Project Pan. The other items are chugging along and I know will take a bit more time to finish, but they are items that I use on a regular basis and I feel good that they will be done in good time. Because I am so happy with my progress, I have decided to add replace the two finished items. One I feel like I will finish pretty quickly and the other is a bit more of a challenge.

First up is the Laneige Glow Makeup Serum. I purchased this back in June and until recently had been using it intermittently. Recently, I have been reaching for it a ton and I feel like I have maybe less than half of the bottle left. The bottle is opaque so I can’t tell where the exact fill line is, but I will say that it takes a couple of tries to fill the pipette and that has been the case since I purchased it. Not great value for money, but I do love the product and may even repurchase at some point once I finish this bottle.

Next is the real challenge for me in this update. The Fenty Beauty Cream Bronzer in Macchiato. I have NEVER panned a Bronzer. I have honestly never even tried. I own a fair amount and I rotate between them all pretty regularly. But I have really been loving c ream products lately and have been reaching for this bronzer a ton. I have added both it and the Laneige serum to my March Makeup Capsule (check out my Instagram for details on that!) which should make it easier to make progress on both. My goal is not to use up the bronzer completely but to hit visual pan on it. Cream products are generally easier to make progress on that powder products and I already have a really satisfying dip in the pan (see pics below).

Empties

I also had a few regular empties in February that I have decided to add to this update. I finished up the Peach & Lily Hydrating Gel Cleanser. I really enjoyed this cleanser, and if I ever catch it on sale I will purchase it again. I only purchased it initially because it was on sale for half the $28 retail price. it’s a good cleanser but nothing about it justifies that price IMHO. Right now I have cycled in my CeraVe Foaming Cleanser which is a fairly large bottle and will last a good while.

I also finished up my second Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It took me almost exactly a year to finish just like the first one. I had a back up waiting in the wings, the Mamonde Lip Sleeping Mask in Plum Blossom and…I’m not loving it. The scent is really strong and smells like a really strong perfume. And you can taste it as well. Not a fan. I don’t know if I will finish it. Am currently on the lookout for another alternative. The great thing about the Laneige Mask is that it even though it is $22 it lasts an insanely long time and is great value for the price.

My final empty was a travel size of my favorite cleansing balm, Clinique Take The Day Off. I had originally purchased a value set that included a full size and two travel minis. I figured the two minis would be perfect for travel. But then the Rona hit and there was no travel to be had and so I decided to use them up. I am currently on my second travel size jar.

Overall, I’m feeling pretty good about my progress. I’ve been on a mission lately to finish things and cycle through products.
