Makeup Brands I Wanted To Try in 2019? Did I??
Around this time last year I wrote my Makeup Brands I Want To Try in 2019 list. And I decided to take a look back and see if I managed to scratch if not at least some of those brands off the list.
Hourglass Cosmetics
Nope. I really wanted their Limited Edition Unlocked palette last year but it sold out. And then they recently brought it back and I was just rather *shoulder shrug* about it. I may try more Hourglass at some point but it’s no longer at the top of my list.
Linda Hallberg Cosmetics
Yes! And I would love to try more. Her products - especially her palettes - are lovely. I ordered from her site when I made my first purchase and I think next time I will order from Beauty Bay instead. Because shipping from Sweden was a pain in the ass. Which I imagine is how it feels for anyone in Europe having items shipped from the States. I now understand your pain and torment.
Zoeva Cosmetics
Yes, and I would like to try more. I purchased the Eclectic Eyes palette, which I mentioned in my original post that I wanted to buy. I like it. The quality is nice and it makes me more curious to try other items from their line. Like their brushes and maybe a few more makeup items.
Wayne Goss Brushes
I bough one Wayne Goss brush in 2019. The No. 4 brush. And it’s nice. But what I now really want to try are the Sonia G. brushes. They are the new brushes I drool over on Beautylish.
Smith Cosmetics
This was the other makeup brush brand on my list last year and that I am now not so interested in. Mainly because I have heard a few not so great things about the brushes themselves. That they shed a lot and can become rough over time. Which for the price point is not great.
Sydney Grace Co.
Unfortunately I still haven’t tried anything from this brand. I still want to, but it’s not a burning desire. it’s one of those things when you think about trying a new brand it isn’t the first second or third to pop into your mind. Which is a shame because I have heard nothing but good things about the brand. I think the main issue is that I don’t really buy single eye shadows that much. I have a handful, but I am much more of an eyeshadow palette lover. They are coming out with a new palette in 2020 and maybe that will catch my eye.
Give Me Glow Cosmetics
I made my first major purchase from Give Me Glow during Black Friday last month and have since used - and fallen in love with the items I purchased. I have been obsessed with the Halo highlighter and used the Vintage Rose eyeshadow palette recently for the first time and it was beautiful. They have one of my favorite liquid lipstick shades, Whiskey & Honey, and now I am eager to try even more of their items in 2020.
Suva Beauty
I still would like to try some Suva products at some point, but I no longer feel the need to add them to my shortlist. I have an overall “meh” feeling about the brand.
Blush Tribe
This is another brand that has just kind of fallen off of my radar and that I no longer feel a burning desire to try. Nothing they have released has excited me enough to pull the trigger - and pay the international shipping fee - and purchase.
Glossier
There are still items from Glossier that I really want to try; their Brow Flick and Cloud Paint blushes. But I’m in no rush to do so.
So what brands are on my radar to try in 2020? I really want to try more indie brands in 2020. A lot of the standout product I purchased this year were from indie makeup brands and I want to discover more.
